Imagine if you could harness the power of winter to allow you to create visual art during the winter months. It sounds crazy but it's true - it is possible.

If you have a camera, a love for creativity, and a desire to come up with something creative you may submit your photos to a winter creativity contest. You may also submit an abstract photo to the contest; however, you should consider your overall portfolio before submitting any photos. The photos that are chosen for the winners of the contests will be displayed on the pages of the magazine.
To take part in a winter creativity contest you must be at least thirteen years of age or older. If you wish to enter a winter photography competition you will need to prove that you have the above characteristics. In order to do this, you can join a junior high or middle school photography class. Most middle schools offer a photography club, so you will not have to worry about being accepted by a specific school. Furthermore, there are also clubs within Junior High that specialize in winter activities. If you wish to start a photography class, you will need to contact the school to find out when they hold their winter activities.
There are usually four general subjects that are chosen for winter creativity contests. These subjects are snow, winter flowers, winter skies, and winter trees. While there are several photographers that choose to focus on only one subject, there are others that have a wide range of subjects they are able to capture with some degree of success. If you have the ability to capture the beauty of nature while still providing a vibrant light to your subject you could find your way into a winter photography contest.
